What Is the Purpose of Church Camp?
Church Camp is a fun-filled program during the summer as an outreach, meant to bring in children who may or may not normally attend church and to teach them the gospel. As an evangelistic tool, Church Camp helps churches fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19).
Church Camp is very popular because each program has its own theme that children can explore. A week of Church Camp includes games, snacks, crafts, skits, sports, Bible study groups, God-Honoring Worship, and, of course, Bible lessons. There is always a connection between God and the theme, allowing kids to discover God in a creative way.
Church Camp is a fun, low-pressure evangelism tool. Many adults today can attest to the fact that Church Camp was where they first learned about Jesus Christ, resulting in their salvation and it is a good way to reaffirm the commitment of God’s people through the centuries: “We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord” (Psalm 78:4).
Is Church Camp Relevant Today?
Many people may wonder what the purpose of Church Camp is and if it’s still relevant. The answer is actually very simple: the purpose of Church Camp is to minister children in the church, create outreach to the surrounding communities, and to create evangelism opportunities. This purpose is supported by a creative theme of Bible study, activities, worship, and even time for some tasty snacks.
Is Church Camp only Bible Studies?
2022 Church Camp will be located at CAMP PINEROCK. There are so many specific activities at Pinerock your child can choose from during "free time". Swimming, Football, Playground, Archery, Hiking, Ropes Course, Paint Ball, Gaga Ball. There is also organized team play time with relay races, touch football, and dance parties. Snacks and themes are throughout the whole trip from luaus, snow cones, ladies meet up, s’mores and camp fires.
