Baptism is a significant step of obedience in the life of a believer. Once we have personally trusted Jesus as our Lord and savior, the Scriptures teach that we should each be baptized. Baptism is your public declaration of your private decision to trust Jesus with your life. When submerged under water through baptism, they identify with the death and burial. As they are raised out of water, they identify with His resurrection

Baptism is symbolic and not sacramental. The Bible teaches that baptism symbolizes that a person has been saved and is not a means of salvation. Baptism is not a means of channeling saving grace but rather is a way of testifying that saving grace has been experienced. It does not wash away sin but symbolizes the forgiveness of sin through faith in Christ.
